BUDGET COUNSELLING

EBO Financial Education Centre provides free budget counselling services to Ottawa’s low-income population, by appointment either in person or by phone. Within the framework of a budget counselling session, and only as a last resort, a request for a small loan can be made through our microcredit program called  Desjardins Mutual Assistance Fund

FINANCIAL EDUCATION

Financial literacy (or education) is defined as “having the knowledge, skills and confidence to make responsible financial decisions*”. Our financial education services are perfectly aligned with this definition, since they provide information, tools and resources that enhance the ability for individuals to explore and understand financial considerations… and to act in order to improve their circumstances.

INCOME TAX SERVICES

Income tax! Words that provoke distaste or plain fear! Some people are faced with fiscal problems,  don’t dare to fill out their returns from years ago, while others do not understand the intricacies of programs or benefits that are made available to them.  Every year at EBO Centre, income tax services are provided by a team of experienced volunteers who complete thousands of tax returns.
